Post-Orientation Reflection

What were 3 of the highlights of the Orientation and the last 2 weeks?
What were 3 of the "low" moments of Orientation and the last 2 weeks?
What are 3 of my greatest takeways/lessons from the Orientation and the last 2 weeks?
What did you learn about yourself in the last 2 weeks?
What are you looking forward in 2011?

1.The camp, the Badge Ceremony and the closing of the camp.
2.Not being able to do at least two courses during the camp, the closing of the camp and when it rained during the camp which prevented us from going out to do the high elements.
3.How to manage transitions, the end of the camp and how to work with each other.
4.I learnt that I can be bored easily if there are not enough engaging activities.
5. I am looking forward to a great year in the SST community and a great Sec 1 year.

Day 2: End-of Day Reflection

I have competed in a tower building challenge, completed Mac Attack activities and did a dance and some cheers.
I have grown in my areas of responsibility, teamwork and leadership.
We should behave seriously and not joke around until the last minute where everyone starts panicking about their unfinished groupwork. We should finish our work before relaxing.
There are differences as everyone sees everything from a different angle, from a different perspective.
I am happy to be a member of my class as it is very fun and all the students are very easy to get along with.

Tower Building Activity Post

About Rules

Picture 1.Have the right to be a leader.
Opinion: Everyone has the right to be a leader, it depends on your merit.Unless we are talking about favoritism.

Picture 2. Engage in class activities actively.
Opinion:Makes some sense, but what happens if a person is 'lucky' enough to be unable to answer a string of questions in a row?

Picture 3.Do not abuse your position/role as a leader, etc. AND As a student of SST we must not tarnish our school's reputation.
Opinion: I absolutely agree with these two.Once these rules are in place, it almost eliminates every wrongdoing available.

Reflection Questions

  2. What have you learnt today?
  3. Why did you choose to come to SST?
  4. What are your aspirations as a member of the SST family?
  5. How have you grown from the activities conducted today? Use one of the pictures from the PICASA album which best illustrates your growth (especially in relation to the 3Rs).
How to do it...
  • Post your responses in your personal blog.
  • Name the title of your blog post as "Day 1 Mac Attack 1 - Activity 4: End-of-Day Reflection"
  • Submit the permlink of the blog post in the GoogleForm below.
I have played some icebreaking games with my classmates, had a quick tour of the school, chatted with classmates, attended talks and completed the day's activities.
I have learnt what my classmates names are, well, some of them at least, the 3 important Rs, the way to behave in school, and the proper usage of the learning device.
I chose to come to SST as I am rather interested in Science and technology, and I will be better equipped with the knowledge of Science and technology. Also, I figure that what this school specializes in will help me in my future ambition.
My aspirations are to get good results and to improve on my flaws, but to altogether make my four years here an enjoyable one.
The 3 Rs-Roles, Rights and Responsibility. I feel that this picture captures all 3 Rs. Everyone has a role to play in finishing the activity, everyone has a right to voice out their opinion and everyone needs to have responsibility in order to finish the activity.
